Bring Fresh Food Closer to You

Our school system failed to equip us with essential skills for healthy eating: we know very little about seasonality, local food, and the vast variety of fruit that could enrich our life.

Here at KitcheNet, we want to change that. We incorporate produce knowledge and knife skills in our product and services to empower your healthy lifestyle!

Bring People together

At the end of the day, we serve two group of audiences: workers in modern corporate offices, and families in the urban food deserts. We want to connect these two groups of people through the mutual desire of healthy eating; and provide a channel for them to support each other.

That’s why, KitcheNet’s corporate clients are generating a weekly subsidy to cover the operational costs associated with fresh food access in the urban food deserts. Our math is simple, 1 month of office subscription could support 1 fresh pop-up market, create 2 part-time jobs for the local youth, and increase opportunity to 500+ families to get affordable, quality, fresh food!

How it All start

Founded in 2017, KitcheNet is increasing the accessibility and affordability of local, high quality produce in the south side and west side of Chicago. We utilized hub based delivery method to provide fresh fruits to a group of people all at once. This asset light, group based food distribution method effectively decrease the cost of fresh food by 30%.

“Nobody should be punished for eating healthy. However, hundreds of families on the Southside of Chicago still trek 4-5 hours to get their fresh grocery. They will take 2-3 different buses, going from one store to the other to score for the lowest price items. We are not talking about the lowest income families, but the working families who has to work 2-3 jobs and keep the family on a most stringent schedule. If they miss the bus, that is another 2 hours waiting in the cold…Healthy eating should be easier.” Our Founder, Trista Li, started KitcheNet after 2 years of grass-root experience, immersing herself in the community to provide alternative finance opportunity for the underserved entrepreneurs.

KitcheNet is a mission driven social for-profit registered in Illinois.
